Our Approach

Here at Little Fox, we understand that accessing counselling can feel scary and overwhelming. We are a counselling space that aims to make you feel the opposite. To do this we prioritize the therapeutic relationship above all needs. We know that when it comes to seeking support and stepping into sharing our deepest selves, requires; trust safety, connection, autonomy and honesty. When we are able to share our deepest self, feel heard and understood, it allows our stories to be acknowledged. We believe that acknowledging our stories and experiences, can help shift perspectives, create reflection and space for different stories.

At Little Fox, we view problems and concerns as separate to the person, and use this lens to find patterns and themes that hinder our ability to create change. We believe that if we constantly focus on all the things we have done wrong or problems we have created, we never see the things we are capable of doing or have done, that allow us to shift patterns and find alternative pathways for our current story.

At Little Fox, we understand that sometimes the way we approach conflict, stress, day-to-day decisions, big feelings, overwhelm and or feelings and emotions, can be patterns and behaviors that have been ingrained in us from our family of origin, experiences, society, relationships, our nervous system /  natural bodily response. We aim to understand these systems that have influenced how we respond and use evidence based skills and knowledge on how we can change those automatic responses. We look at the whole picture of problems rather than just the problem itself.
